Literacy is most commonly defined as the ability to read and write. However, nowadays, reading encompasses complex visual and digital media as well as printed material. Beyond the functional level, literacy plays a vital role in transforming students into socially engaged citizens. Being able to read and write means being able to keep up with current events, communicate effectively, and understand the issues that are shaping our world. CREC offers a variety of services that can help students with dyslexia or other reading problems.

Digital Literacy and Citizenship

Digital citizenship is an important concept to teach and instill in your students, as they are already living much of their lives on the Internet and interacting with people from around the world. A key aspect of digital citizenship is "digital literacy."

Dyslexia Services

These sessions will develop and explore key understandings regarding the identification and treatment protocols for servicing students with dyslexia. Presented by CREC Education Specialists, our webinars are available as a series to districts, groups, or individual customers and are beneficial to all educational professionals, administrators, and related service personnel.

Literacy Services

CREC's literacy specialists work collaboratively with schools and districts to analyze data about student learning. The goal is to determine areas of focused professional development, and follow-up coaching and resource development to help close achievement gaps.
