Digital citizenship is an important concept to teach and instill in your students, as they are already living much of their lives on the internet and interacting with people from around the world. A key aspect of digital citizenship is "digital literacy."
When you hear the word 'literacy,' you probably think about learning to read and write. These skills are at the heart of digital literacy, but given the new and ever-changing ways we use technology to receive and communicate information, digital literacy also encompasses a broader range of skills—everything from creating and sharing digital content to gathering information online and gauging the validity of that information. CREC's educational technology staff will work with you to design and/or implement a curriculum that exposes your students to these important skills and concepts.
