Services Offered for Districts

CREC's experienced transportation team can help solve your most challenging issues. The CREC Transportation Division currently coordinates transportation for the Greater Hartford Choice Programs. CREC manages over 600 bus routes to more than 185 schools. CREC's Director of Transportation has over 25 years of experience in the school transportation industry and is on the Connecticut School Transportation Association's Board of Directors. The management team at CREC Transportation has over 100 years of experience combined, is proficient using the three major routing software programs, and has a state certified school bus safety instructor on staff.

Bus Monitor Program

Professional, trained bus monitors ensure the safety of students to and from school. Bus monitors available to districts for special accommodations.

Regionalization Planning

Working with districts to design and implement a regional transportation plan.

School Transportation Advocacy & Resource (STAR)

The STAR association supports district/school transportation professionals in the Greater Hartford area through networking, education, updates, influence, and at no cost.

Shared Out-Of-District Transportation

CREC helps faciliate the sharing of out-of-district transportation services. Here you can find and post transportation shares with other districts.

Transportation and Fleet Management/Routing

CREC is available to manage all phases or specific areas of a district's transportation system.

Transportation Consultation and Staff Brokering Services

CREC provides the administrative support for staff brokering and subcontracts the work to a school transportation company.

Transportation Safety Programs and Training

CREC offers safety programs for the training of drivers, dispatchers, and managers.

Van Transportation Services

Well-trained CREC van drivers, trained by a DMV certified safety instructor, are available to provide transportation in newer-model vans.
