CREC Arts Staff Members Recognized Over Summer Vacation
(Hartford, CT) This summer, CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts High School staff members were recognized for their accomplishments outside of the classroom, including E. Ann Baldwin, Sonia Plumb, and Megan Collins.
Work by Baldwin, a visual arts instructor at the school, is currently featured as part of an international, traveling exhibit called Water, Paen, Paen. The exhibition includes work from around the world.
Plumb is a CREC dance instructor who also owns her own studio. This summer, Sonya Plumb Dance Company created a new series of movement classes for children on the autism spectrum. Through these classes, students learn elements of dance technique, such as alignment and rhythm.
Collins, a creative writing instructor, had two poems published this summer. “Accomplice” was published in Red Paint Hill Poetry Journal; “Belated” was published in New Verse News, an online magazine dedicated to poetry that responds to current events.
