“I just wanted to send you a note to tell you how happy I am that we decided to send [my daughter] to this school instead of going to see any other schools. This school is AWESOME and I am thrilled my daughter no longer fights me to get up and is excited to go to school. Thank You to you and all your staff and the kids.”
Academy for Life, Employment, and Purpose (LEAP)
Polaris Clinical Day School
The Academy for Therapeutic Learning and Success, ATLAS, is designed to address not only the educational needs of a more fragile student, but also the social and emotional issues that may further hinder a student from reaching their full potential. In addition to the standard clinical services that Polaris's educational programs and academies have, ATLAS offers specialized therapeutic services, including 5-10 clinical contact hours per week through intensive individual and group counseling; an integrated family component including in-home visits, as appropriate; and comprehensive treatment plans that include weekly goal setting and review. ATLAS provides therapeutic support that can be fully utilized by students with a clinical Axis 1 diagnosis in grades 6-12.
The CREC John J. Allison, Jr. Polaris Center educational programs serve children and adolescents who struggle with learning disabilities and emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric issues. Polaris provides comprehensive treatment, offering quality educational and clinical programming for adolescents and their families throughout Connecticut. All Polaris programming is offered from a trauma-informed perspective as adapted from the Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency (ARC) framework. A variety of academies within Polaris have been developed to focus on the unique academic and clinical needs of our students, with a strict adherence to their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
