CREC Students Perform Musical to Aid Make-A-Wish Foundation

(Hartford, Conn.) Students at the CREC Academy of Science and Innovation (ASI), New Britain, are supporting the Make-A- Wish® Foundation of Connecticut by holding a fundraising drive at school leading up to their musical production of “Yearbook Reflections” on Friday, June 15. The free performance will take place at 7 p.m. at Trinity-on-Main, 19 Chestnut St., New Britain. Donations will be accepted.

The 2000 musical counteracts the negative stories about youth that the media often covers. It’s a positive play about the humor, determination, and caring that exists in every school. Steven Fendrich wrote the book and Scott Deturk wrote the music and lyrics.

“The play focuses on the good in high school students, even when they’re faced with adversity,” said Elizabeth Wilson, ASI staff member. “Our students, like the characters in the musical, want to do something special for others, so they chose to donate to the Make-A- Wish Foundation.”
