Data teams provide a structure for analyzing data in order to inform decisions regarding instruction and impact on student achievement. CREC's knowledgeable staff provide training, coaching, and data team facilitation.
Effective Instructional Strategies
Specialists provide on-site professional development programs, facilitate professional learning communities, analyze data, select appropriate strategies, and provide coaching support in classroom/planning sessions with teachers in order to support high-quality education.
Indoor recreational space available for short- and long-term use. Open in the evenings for full-court basketball, volleyball, badminton, indoor soccer, or any other team sport that requires the use of a gym.
Paraeducator Certificate Program
Online, five-course program of study, provided in conjunction with Charter Oak State College, designed for aspiring or practicing paraeducators interested in obtaining college credit.
The COMPASS: Helping Paraeducators Navigate the Profession
Nationally recognized, comprehensive, job-embedded professional development curriculum aligned with national paraeducator standards, with more than twenty modules such as School Climate, Instructional Strategies, Managing Behaviors, and Common Core Standards.
Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Certificate
Seven-course, online program of study for aspiring and/or practicing speech and language pathology assistants presented by CREC and Charter Oak State College.
Facilitation and Presentation Certification
Two-day workshop focusing on facilitation and presentation skills, techniques for delivering powerful training, and the effective use of technology.
The TLICC provides learning on current topics of instructional coaching, and the role coaches play with school leadership, reform, data and assessment, and the implementation of the new CT Core State Standards.
Educators in the region annualy select a piece of literature that highlights a key area of teaching and learning. Participants will receive a copy of the book and a study guide so that they can create book clubs in their districts.
Workshops, webinars, technical assistance, and coaching services are available to develop and advance co-teaching practices.
The CREC Curriculum Council is monthly meeting designed for assistant superintendents, directors, curriculum coordinators, and district instructional leaders.
