Staff work with teachers and district curriculum coordinators to develop strategies that ensure and promote alignment of curriculum with the state science frameworks.
Using Data in a Changing Landscape
This training explores how the practice of data teams/data-driven decision making and the setting of SMART goals for student performance intersects with the requirements of the new teacher evaluation model and the new state accountability system.
Student Learning Objectives Audit
CREC can assist districts in reviewing student learning objectives, to ensure they result in fair and valid evaluations of student performance and teacher efficacy.
Staff work with teachers and curriculum coordinators in K-12 to ensure a strong alignment between curriculum and the state math frameworks.
Career and Technical Education
Take advantage of this professional development designed for CTE teachers and administrators on current topics in education such as teacher evaluation, Connecticut Core Standards, career pathways and technology. Workshops and conferences also focus on CTE subject areas.
Teacher Education and Mentoring program (TEAM)
Mentors support new teachers through five modules over a 2-year period. The modules focus on classroom environment, planning, instruction, assessment for learning, and professional responsibility. Each module is aligned with a domain of the updated Common Core.
Smarter Balanced Digital Library Consortium
CREC is seeking districts interested in developing a regional consortium to learn collaboratively about Smarter Balanced formative assessment tools.

Through the RESC Minority Teacher Recruitment Program, the Institute of Teaching and Learning, in collaboration with the RESC Alliance, offers mentoring and financial assistance to youth and adults who are aspiring to become teachers.

CREC has developed a set of consulting services to address critical needs in the areas of technology readiness, including district- and building-level infrastructure audits, student preparation, teacher and proctor supports, and digital assessment design.
